Hambleden circular walk no.5
Start: Hambleden
Finish: Hambleden
Length: 10.13 km / 6.3 miles
Weather: Sunny.
I didn't take many pictures on this walk as it was all very familiar, but none the less all very scenic and bathed in autumnal sunshine.
There is one short section of the walk on the lane out of Hambleden. Care should be taken here as it was quite busy when we did the walk and the drivers were not the most observant!
Early on in the walk we came across the victim of the hungry caterpillar.
Having come off the lane, looking up the hill towards Cadmore Wood.
The row of young trees is the private track leading to Howe Farm. Henleyhill Wood in the background.
Horses grazing at the bottom of the hill.
Looking across the Hambleden valley to Rogues Plantation...I think.
Gives you an idea the steepness of the hill.
At the top of the hill there are 2 welcome benches -- a rarity in the Chilterns it would seem.
At the top!
The lovely Roundhouse at Fawley.
Looking down from Reservoir Hill, nearing the end of the walk.
We went back to Luxter's winery and brewery to make a few purchases. This is the Barn Ale and we also bought a small bottle of orange liquor.
