Cadmore End circular walk no. 4
Start: Cadmore End
Finish: Cadmore End
Length: 11.42 km/ 7.1 miles
Weather: Cloudy
The pros of starting a walk here are many: Good place to park, near to M40 Junction 4, a cricket pitch, lovely church.... the Cons: there is only one and that is you start high up and immediately start going down hill. This means that at the end of your walk you have to walk back up hill. For that reason, this walk is less strenuous if done in reverse...unless you want it to be a better test of your stamina :)
The church at Cadmore End is located next to the cricket pitch
At this junction in Hanger Woods, I forked left.
The church at Fingest.
I have been in this lovely pub a few times, but not today.
The path goes uphill towards Mousells Wood.
Looking back down to Fingest from the top of the hill.
After leaving Mousells Wood, I followed a footpath through fields to Skirmett (the frog).
If it is possible to have a favourite stile or gate, then this is mine -- the company used to be based in Acton, W3.
Great Wood.
At Turville I had lunch in the church grave yard. In the distance is the windmill, my post-lunch destination.
Taken from near the windmill, looking back to Turville and Great Wood in the backround.
Daffs in Hanger Wood.
